The True Meaning of Christmas

My mother in law Robbie had an idea to help a family in need. This wasn't just any family... This was a family of 15 children who lived with another family of 10 children. It was Papa Pilgrims family! If you don't know the story of Papa Pilgrim, well... its a very long, sad story. He wasn't very good to his wife and children and did some very bad things which landed him in jail. His family of 15 children were about to be separated into different foster homes since his wife could not provide for all of them. Fortunately, a very good family came forward and took the entire family into their home and have been caring for them for almost a year now.

Robbie sent out an email and asked for donations for anyone who would be willing to help this family during this Christmas Season. Many people came forth with lots of goodies, treats, toys, blankets, pillows, socks, washer and dryer, stockings, Christmas Tree, Nativity, dolls, TV, money and so much more! So many people showed their love and kindness toward this family and the feeling was overwhelming!

Whoever could help to deliver all of these items met up on Family Home Evening Night (Monday) before Christmas. We drove to their home and met the family:

We started to unload the cars:

And take the presents inside:

The Hales and Buckingham family sang to us:

While the children were excited with all the presents:

We sang "I am a Child of God" and then all the families sang a Christmas song together...

We drove away from the house feeling incredibly filled with the true meaning of Christmas...being Christlike and helping those in need.
