We didn't have our camera on the water to take pictures, so we decided to shove his head and most of his body in our cooler to keep him on ice before he fillet's the fish.
At our house. The Mahi Mahi looks SO much prettier in the water because its neon green and yellow color is incredibly vivid. But once Byron bled him out, the fish lost all of its color. It was pretty funny though because we had lost our gaff on our way out on the water, we forgot to strap on our Dive Knives, we also lost our fillet knife (it must've flew off the jet ski and sank to the bottom of the ocean), so Byron and I didn't have a knife to kill the fish. Heck, we didn't even have a stick or a bat to beat the fish to death with either! So Byron let the fish tire himself out in the water before reeling him all the way up. When the fish finally tired out, he reeled him up, put on his fishing gloves, grabbed the leader line, then grabbed the fish, and pulled out the gills on one side to bleed him out all the way.
